Co-Founder of Red Feather Financial, Dr. Sabrina Scott Writes About The Benefits Of Love In Traditional And Non-Traditional Relationships
Dr. Sabrina Scott tells readers that the benefits of joint insurance coverage is no longer the exclusive domain of married couples and considers this something to celebrate during the month of love and to explore for those in traditional and non-traditional committed relationships.
DECATUR, GA, February 14, 2019: Dr. Sabrina Scott, co-founder of Red Feather Financial, has posted a new article on the firm’s website entitled “The Benefits Of Love In Marriage And Other Long-Term Partnerships.” Dr. Scott encourages anyone in a non-traditional committed relationship to explore the cost saving options.
Dr. Scott writes, “February is the month of love. Romantic love is the primary focus of the month.” She continues, “We pay tribute to the excitement of new love, the comfort and familiarity of established long-term love, and the many benefits that being in a loving partnership can bring.”
“As we move through this month where most people think of hearts and flowers, romantic dinners, chocolates and diamonds and other loving gifts,” says Dr. Scott, “I think about the advantages of joint versus single insurance options!” She adds, “Go ahead, you can call me crazy! But do hear me out, especially if you are in a long-term committed relationship but are not married – or jointly insured. Being in a committed relationship has advantages other than the usual romantic ones.”
As Dr. Scott points out, “Marriage has historically been the only type of institution that has been legally recognized and gives those in union tax breaks and insurance benefits.” “However,” she goes on to explain, “we are living in unprecedented times. Divorce is more common than lifelong unions. More people are choosing to live together rather than marry. In fact, according to the National Center for Family & Marriage Research there were 7.9 million heterosexual co-habitating couples in 2014.”
According to Dr. Scott, “The fact is, you no longer have to be married in order to be considered for joint insurance coverage. The cost savings of joint versus single coverage can be significant.”

About Dr. Sabrina Scott
Sabrina Scott learned about Veterans Benefits and Medicaid when her parents sought legal services for long-term care. Confident she could find ways to preserve her family’s resources and still get access to Government Assistance, Sabrina felt there should be more options than relying on welfare. As a result, Dr. Scott became an investment advisor representative who can make recommendations regarding securities and became licensed in insurance as well. She co-founded Red Feather Financial with Victoria Collier to help those who want to have a plan in place in order not to outlive their resources and who do not want to be a burden to their children.
